PROGRESS SUPPORT
In addition to our counseling services, Out Youth provides case management specialized to serve:
LGBTQIA+ youth and young adults ages 12 - 23
Transgender and non-binary adults 18+ who are enrolled in the Transgender Wellness Program
How is progress support different from counseling?
Case management is used to focus on the logistical steps to help you move forward with your life goals. Counseling focuses more on your emotional wellbeing, which you can receive in conjunction with Progress Support services.
What Progress Support can offer you:
Education: finding support for obtaining your GED, college degree, or trade school degree.
Employment: resume assistance and locating jobs that fit your needs, that ideally are LGBTQIA+ friendly and affirming
Central Texas Job Resources here.
Housing: assistance finding safe and affordable housing
Healthcare: help locating doctors and surgeons that take your insurance and/or are affordable and finding surgeons that accommodate what you want for your body
Name and Gender Marker Changes: help filling out and filing forms and accompanying to the courthouse with completed forms to file for changes
Therapist Letters for Gender Affirmation Surgeries: connecting to therapists who can write affirmation letters
Navigating Social Services: help signing up for benefits such as SNAP and Social Security benefits
You can meet with a case manager every other week or as needed to work on these goals.
