about the hcra

The Hill Country Ride for AIDS (HCRA)

is the largest fundraiser in Central Texas for local LGBTQIA+ organizations that provide HIV/AIDS services.

A family-friendly and festive bike ride through the beautiful Texas Hill Country, The Ride raises funds that are given directly to OutYouth and eight other nonprofits serving the LGBTQIA+ community in Central Texas! 

All ages and levels are welcomed and celebrated for The Ride! Distances range from 12, 27, 45, or 75 miles and can take as little as an hour.

You can join OutYouth’s team, All Ride All Ride All Ride, as a volunteer or a rider to raise money and awareness. Riders and volunteers are equally important: they both raise funds for OutYouth and its eight peer organizations! You can also participate in training, fundraisers, and social events throughout the ride season to connect with the cause and one another.

That’s a wrap for our 2023 @hillcountryrideforaids day! Thank you @outyouth for letting us represent you! And most importantly, THANK YOU to every single rider, volunteer, and donor who made this year a massive success. We can’t thank you enough for your big heart, energy, and inclusiveness. Not only did we raise over $40k for 9 local nonprofits supporting those living with HIV, we got the top 3rd fundraising team, 1st place in recruitment, top fundraising nonprofit beneficiary team, and top team in social media. Our hearts are so full and we cannot wait to continue new friendships made over this past weekend. It was such a joy to see so many team volunteers cheering us on and to see so many team riders who signed up to do 12 or 27 miles complete 45 miles all together! We are some proud team captains!
