The part-time Operations & Finance Specialist is serving as an additional layer of support for Out Youth finance and operations by supporting each department that augments the productivity of each team member.

Position type:

Part-time, non-exempt

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Billing/Collections. Ensures that all deadlines are met.

  • Provides excellent customer service resulting in positive stakeholder experiences

  • Welcomes visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answers or refers inquiries

  • Directs visitors by maintaining employee and department directories

  • Maintains security by following procedures; monitors visitor management system

  • Manages general calls and telecommunication

  • Maintains safe and clean reception area through adherence to office procedures

  • Files documents as directed

  • Sorts and distributes mail

  • Provides general administrative support to the operations and leadership team

  • Works with Operations & Programs Director to develop/maintain/document efficient and effective policies and procedures.

  • Monitors office activities to achieve maximum expense control and productivity.

  • Helps as needed in all areas of the organization to complete necessary projects.

  • Organizes and arranges for the upkeep of the office, supplies, and storage spaces.

  • Other duties as assigned.


15-20 hours per week. All hours must be worked on-site at Out Youth.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Committed to the mission of supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals.

  • Experience with developing and maintaining productive working relationships with community members

  • Ability to work as a leader and as part of a team

  • Solutions-driven

  • Strategic and critical thinker; courteous and level-headed under pressure

  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent follow-up and follow-through

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, demanding work environment

  • Excellent customer service; strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Exceptional work ethic; very reliable and responsible

  • Thrives in an entrepreneurial environment; flexible, willing to learn and take on new responsibilities

  • Professional, friendly, and adaptable personality; a team player who is open to feedback

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates or bachelors degree in business, accounting, or related field.

  • Understanding of Quickbooks and Quickbooks Online a plus.

  • Experience in the non-profit sector is preferred

Computer and Technology Skill Requirements:

  • Computer literate and highly proficient in Google Suite tools and software; must be comfortable with the use of technology in an office environment

Pay: Pay will be commensurate with experience.
